Social Networking Sites

I visited, and logged into, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn. In exploring them, I found that they were all unique in some way.

My first impression was of Facebook, and it is probably my least favorite of these four. The idea of being able to stay connected with friends and families through personal profiles is nice. Although the other platforms offer this, Facebook feels different and it feels way more personal than connecting with someone on Twitter or Instagram for example. This would be the only reason I use it though.

Twitter felt good to use, and allowed for a less personal connection with followers. The idea of forcing people to make only small posts is interesting and I kind of like it. It is straight to the point and easy to go through on the feed. I also enjoy how people share media on this website, it is very amusing.

Instagram is more focused on sharing images. It is also a nice way to keep in touch with people, but it is not as active as platforms like Twitter and Facebook when posting. Other than posting, Instagram has a feature that allows people to post stories, which definitely improves the activity, as it is a feature that is used more for daily occurrences not worth making a post about. I really like this feature, it makes it stand out tremendously.

LinkedIn is a great professional social networking site. It can be used in order to make meaningful connections with people in your field and to professionally develop yourself. People can also use this app in search of jobs or in search of people to hire. It is a great way to get yourself out into the open when searching for a job.
